But instead? She immediately packs her things and gets ready to go.

You see, it all makes sense.
Lila is stuck. She has no way out. Same with Five. So, to cope with it, to stay alive, and to not give up on life, they turn the tables and start living together.
To survive that mess, they fake it. They convince themselves they’re happy, and in the process, they forget they’re pretending.
Eventually, they start believing it’s real, getting attached, and breaking down when they finally find a way out.
That’s what we all do, right?
I don’t think anyone actually likes this so-called life. But we give it some reason to “survive.”
Over time, we stop putting in the effort to find answers, to find a way out. Instead, we blend in with those who look like they’ve figured it all out. But no one really has.
Everyone has their own definition of survival. And if I ask any question, why do people do things a certain way? Why do they act a certain way? Why? and fit in the answer “to survive,” it all makes sense. At least, for now, to me, it does.
Look at social media, LinkedIn, Instagram, influencers, million-follower accounts.
People say, “I’m doing this for my passion, to entertain, to educate, to help others.” But first and foremost, they’re doing it to survive. Everything else comes next.
So, no one is actually doing anything just for the sake of doing it (even if we claim we are).
The truth is, we have no other choice. We have to survive.
And just like Five and Lila, who pretended to be happy until they believed it, we convince ourselves we’re doing something meaningful.
But deep down, we’re all dead.
So, Why do we do what we do?
Not because we want to help people.
Not because it’s our passion.
Not because we want to entertain.
But simply to survive.
And we’re all just taking our own routes to survival. We just name it differently.
